My personal favorite is Hilti, not cheap but will last you a lifetime if looked after, had mine for over 8 years now and still goes like on the first day.  ;)
Please note that the advice I am giving is only my opinion and not necessarily a fact.  Please refer to our terms and conditions.

if you dont have the money to outlay for a topline brand then ozito provide a cheap brill for around $100 so you can buy around 5 of these for the price of the rich plumbers one lol...i have been using my ozito for around a year now and recently on a commercial job the builder used it so much i made him buy it off me lol it worked sweet going through a 250mm thick slab 30 25mm holes and another 30 holes at 20mm  and a shit load other anchors and bits and pieces the builder had the boy drilling solid for a damb week and it still goes fine so i will stand by ozito as a cheap good brand the only reason i got this brand is because i dont use it every day so i think it depends on what situation you work in most as we do residental work most we deal mostly with timber and little concrete as commercial work deals alot more with concrete and if we did most of our work commercial then sure i would get a named brand.

they sound alright thunder - where do you get them?

i am due for a new one as my ramset has given up again - usually i get em repaired but they are becoming more and more expensive

have been making do with the smaller ramset in the mean time

I do not rate the ramset gear - we used Hilti 15+yr ago and our hilti tek guns are still going strong and have out lasted the younger ramset ones that we switched to - we now use the hilti battery impact tek guns

I'm with thunder. I have a cheap mitre10 dyna drill copy approx 2 years old, paid $80.00 for it.
Our companies flock of Ramset dyna drills are in every 6 months for repair of one thing or another. The repairs to the Ramset drills could have paid for 8 new $80.00 drills over the same period of time.
Better off to buy cheap sds compatible drills and dump them when they fail, than repair a $800.00 drill a couple times a year  @ $100.00 a time....

Bunnings and placemakers stock ozito also my boss just recently brought an inspection camera(the one with the small head camera and about a meter long flexiable cord with it) for $150 from supercheap auto it has about a 4" by 3" display used it today seemed to work just as good as those $500 models offred at the suppliers.
