Hi Guys,
I've read various posts and threads on Good Old Marijuana plant thread sealant (NKA Hemp), particularly versus PTFE / Teflon Thread Seal Tape and agree with everything that's been said. Teflon alone just doesn't cut it.
However, I haven't seen much about Graphite Grease, which is the other half of the old duo.
Can anyone give me a rundown on whether Graphite Grease is really necessary - and, for that matter, whether it's even Food Safe, these days? It sure doesn't seem like it would be safe to consume, even though it's been used in potable water systems for eons.
Is the graphite grease more than just a lubricant, and is there any reason why a smidge of plain soap couldn't be used instead? Does soap corrode copper, or cause the hemp to rot? Does the graphite grease maybe protect the hemp from rotting?
Any experts on this out there?
