self sealing crox union

Hi all,

Came a crossed this the other day, its a 110 lp hwc that someone forgot to do the top crox nut on, (you can see the nut half way up the pipe!
It was in a concealed location, in a motel, and  was not leaking.!!! :o
The crox and hemp with the down ward force of the 20 copper tube (open vent above) must of kept it sealed...well sort of...
you can see it did leak for a while but then took up.
The cylinder was installed 15 years ago, panel screwed on the front of it, in the motel unit and forgotten... :o
