Question 10

a1) Passed the PGDB drainlaying examination.
a2) Held a limited licence in drainlaying for minimum of one year
a3) Passed a practical assessment
a4) Entered into a Training Agreement on or after April 2005

 1. hold a limited licence for a year
 2. enrol at polytec in national certificate level 4
 3 pass a practical assesment
 4 pass the pgdb 9197 exam

(b)  State the course of action that is available to a drainlayer if he or she feels that they have
been unfairly dealt with by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board following a
disciplinary procedure.
 Any person found guilty by the Board has the right to appeal the Board’s decision and/or any penalties that it might impose. Any appeal must be lodged with the District Court within 20 working days of receipt of service of the Board’s decision.
(3 marks)

(c)  Name the THREE clause titles and numbers contained in the New Zealand Building Code
that relate to drainlaying.
 1. E1 surface water
 2. G13 foul water
 3. G14 industrial liquid waste
 
(3 marks)
(d)  Name the Act that governs safety in the workplace.
              heath and saftey in employment act 1992
 
(1 mark)
