I know Peasea, just saying now thanks to the Board that is my best chance of a decent retirement....after their lies and witch-hunt ruined my business.

I've sat back and watched for a long time now and finally I've got up the courage to stand up and be counted. Whats the story with the Federation?

Watchdog, you can read about the Federation by going back through the newsletters on this site and seeing who they are and what they stand for.  If you want to join it is free - you simply contact Wal Gordon and give him your details and request to become a member.  The Federation is interested in fairness and equality in legislation and regulation for our industries - that is all.  They do not have business partners, or sponsors - and therefore they are not beholden to any external entities other than their members.  All the work undertaken by the federation is done by volunteers who give up their time - they are not paid in any way, shape or form.  Any travel to and from meetings is done at their own cost, nothing is recovered from donations.

The Federation currently has 980 members, these range from apprentices to employers to tradespeople, to administration people - all interested in the industry.  They are currently looking for people in different areas to start up local chapters - people who are willing to run an informal gathering of practitioners so that their views can be gauged and issues bought back to the central committee.

So far the Federation have had some success in bringing complaints to the Charities Commission, the Regulation Review Committee, the Office of the Auditor General and the Ombudsman.  All the Federation want is for the Board to operate legally and transparently within the Act.

The Federation were borne out of practitioners sheer frustration in getting the PGDB to listen to practitioners, in the dramatic increase in fees, in some of the poor information being fed to us by the PGDB, out of the concerns around the cross seeding of Boards in our sector so that no one criticised the others, the poor decisions made by the Board that have affected our industry for too long and the mistake after mistake made by the Board in interpreting the Act - if you feel this frustration then the Federation is the organisation for you.  But read the newsletters and see what you make of it.
Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

Thanks Jaxcat. I'll get on to joining.

I've read a lot of the back issues and can't get over the arrogant attitude of the board and others. What gives these dicks the rights to screw with our lives and to accept money for doing it?

If there was a pre school for board members and CEO these idiots would be lucky to get entry.

Out of all the board members is there not one that will front up and help the industry.  Why don't we sack the board and put the Federation in to run the show as they seem to know what's happening and seem to care about the rest of us.

Sorry I,m going on a bit but more of us need to speak up. How can we get more people to this site and to help the Federation?

I thought I was watching a bit of a tussle going on but he more I read the more I see that I'm watching a Board screwing with my rights and life.

I take my hat off to you guys for standing up to them as most people seem to be afraid of the Board and what might happen to them.  I know I was guilty of that as well.

Why doesn't the Government do something about this Board?

The only person who can sack the Board is the minister who appointed them.....so good luck on getting a politician to admit they made an error in judgment, the act is set up in a way that they have no liability in anything they say or do (that is how it is worded) you can complain as long as it isn't about discipline and has to be with in very tight peramiters, if it falls out side of this then you have nowhere to go.

BUT, AND THEY SEEM TO HAVE OVER LOOKED THIS....THEY SHOULD ACT IN GOOD FAITH AND FOLLOW NATURAL JUSTICE......AND THEY DO NOT DO THIS.

Also..... no body can "make" the Board do anything, only make recommendations ......that they are then free to ignore, it is run like an old boys club with no repercussions.............a gentlemans club that is in short supply of any gentlemen acting with total impunity, because they can.

.............and we wonder why they act with total disregard for us, the public and fair play. It is so very wrong.

They ignore a faulty safety gas certificate system and ignore dangerous jobs when it suits, if your in the club you can get away with anything, if you are out side of the club they steamroller your life and go you for the least of infringements.....all played out with their own referee, on their home pitch, with their own rule book (a rule book that they hold YOU to.....this same rule book can then be ignored at will, at their discretion).

IF, AND IT IS A BIG "IF", We are meant to live in a free democracy with fair play for all............what part of what I have said is acceptable.........they read this site and do not react to my accusations.....because I can back every word with facts and paperwork(a lot of letters are actually issued by the Board).

People are taken by the same crowd to task by lawyers for defamation for just calling these clowns names.......but they haven't even denied what I am saying............and I know they read this site, I am glad they read this site.

AND THE BEST PART OF THIS VERY BLACK JOKE............WE FINANCE IT ALL.....IT IS US THAT PUT THE GRAVY IN THEIR TRAIN.......... ???

They are now apparently appealing, with our money, to oppose being de-registered as a charity............you have to ask your self a question....on what planet are they a charity, it is a tax avoidance dodge, unbelievably, this is even according to Allan Bickers in a recent Info Brief. They are meant to be a non profit organisation, you only get taxed on profit. They claim to keep this profit to offset costs to us in the future.

Question.........when has your TOTAL cost to gain a licence EVER gone down....it is reshuffled and shaped and presented in all different ways....but when has that cheque ever gone down in value??? ever???

They are liars and bullies and we ALLOW them to rule us......WHY is that??? I am not going to.....and if it takes a physical action by my self... then so be it....I have tried every available avenue that is legal and available, but I have lost a great deal.......I am not having this.
