Fellow Practitioner Issue 143 Dated 1 March 2013
« on: March 01, 2013, 05:35:48 AM »
This Week:

For decades our industry has been throwing money at the powers that be without question, believing them to be trustworthy enough to make prudent decisions with industry money. Reserves have been built up and held in various accounts. Now where is it?

Like the Mammoth we believe this Board’s credibility has gone forever.  Are they worthy of our confidence and really how believable are they?

The third and final part of the Ombudsman’s report which is regarding the electronic system operated by the Board in respect of applications for renewals of Practicing Licences.

You can make an honest mistake about your own rights and duties, but when the rights of someone else are intentionally or maliciously infringed upon, such conduct demonstrates bad faith.

Can't anyone else see how dodgy these people are? Especially our so called leaders, just plain wrong. I wonder who else is lurking behind those little funds put aside for a rainy day?

We need a proper, open, fair and transparent Inquiry by an actual, totally unconnected impartial body......if I was the Board and I had done nothing wrong, immoral or illegal I would welcome an Inquiry with open arms....so as to clear the air and reaffirm my credibility........but if I was a dirty, conniving, nepotistic, immoral pack of arrogant jerks....well then I would avoid it at all costs and try to bullshit my way out of it......hhhmmmm.

I'll have one of those Chapter packs please Wal.

St Davids Day today, really brightened it up for me, these people must pay the piper.....there is far too much egg on their face and blood on their hands for them to stay. It is blatant and basically takes the urine, lol. 8)

You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

Badger we'll get that info to you next week.
Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

Hi guys, another can of worms uncovered by the super investigation team at the Federation.

In 1991 a Charitable Trust called the “Plumbing and Gasfitting Training Foundation” was formed with five trustees, being the Gas Association of NZ Incorporated, NZ Society of Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Incorporated, NZ Plumbers Gasfitters and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers, Registered Society of Master Drainlayers of NZ Incorporated and you guessed it - the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board.

Another superb effort by the federation on producing fellow practitioner 143. This issue needs to be read very carefully to fully understand the words of the `Ombudsman `and the point about the `Registrar` being able to make decisions without the rest of the board`s approval, so why do we need a board?
if an application for renewal of a practicing licence is made before the license’s date of expiry, but the licence has not been renewed before that date, the licence continues in force until the application is determined.

So if we all were to ask to have the $90.00 reduction (money that they owe us)applied to our new license’s before paying for them the board would have to consider it and let us know, now that would take some time and be debatable, at the same time starving the board of much needed income, cheers

Cheers Jax, can't wait.....got a few names in mind, but hell it been 10 years...whats another week.... 8)

Can you imagine what someone would find if to investigate these bunch of dubious "professionals" was their 9 to 5 job, 5 days a week and had full access to their dirty little files with the full backing of the law and a wage to pursue this........ It boggles the mind that all this is coming to light and most/all of those doing the sterling work of the Feds have to run a business and work in their actual jobs 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, with very limited access to feck all, basically they have done this in their "spare" time for no wages at all.......big respect, I am proud to know them.

I might tell the Board I am paying my illegal levy straight to the Feds and that they should forwards my all ready "donated" levy to the Feds too........... ;D

I can hear their foundations creaking, just a bit.....now is the time to up the anti, compile a dossier of all the dodgy shit they have pulled and openly ask every politician what part of it all is ethical or even legal, publically.

They say that sunlight is a powerfull disinfectant.
also only the implicated would be making information hard to get and the public arena would seem to be the fairest place to have this all aired.
It is a shame that it takes so much effort to get any where with the current systems. If policy makers worked with the real industry and politicans had to act with the integrity and competence of tradespeople we would be getting somewhere.
The more i look at politics the more i See proving that the human race is devolving....... not evolving.

At a CPD course this week. One guy asked if reading the weekly Federation newsletter could count as self learning? If not, could you please put some plumbing tips in so that it does. That will annoy them.

It should count it certainly is educating the industry about the ins and outs of what the Board are doing, the Act and the regs.  Probably more than any CPD course where you already know before you go.  How many posters and readers on this forum can say they have learned something useful by reading the Fellow Practitioner?
