Morning all, I would think the problem the 35 year veteren has with cpd would be very common outside of the main centres. There has been very little available as cpd , online stuff is a recent development, 2 years on of course ! Drainlayers would have even less oppertunities. Thinking of that, if a drainlayer got his cpd about, maybe infinities for instance , if he was deemed competent (by the board) what would happen if he dared to repair one. :D

Can some one please explain what is high risk work for gas certification, apparently anything done outside of the scope of the regs......so if its done within the scope of the regs.....it don't need certification????????????????????????????????????

It looks like an excuse to prosecute some one if they get confused or make a mistake........I wonder if any investigators were present on the panel for making this shit up?

Said it before the last tradesman 100% right 100% of the time.....well they crucified him any way.....

I think a new political party is well over due...have a word with the speaker and back the present government and you don't even need 500 members paid up members.......one rule(or lack there of) for some and a big stick for the rest of us.

The pen is not mightier than the sword....I would pick a sword as my choice of weapon everytime in a practical hand to hand knife fight, its time the practical manual workers take back their lives from the pen pushing leeches (who incidentally literally couldn't do poo's with out us).
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

Thanks Plumber.... now can some one explain it to me......

A mine field....is something set up by an opposing side to segregate and deter progress/movement by the other side. You don't know where to stand and only find out when you put your foot down....you either loose a limb and/or your life.....or you get to progress to the next step......where you only find out if its safe when you put your other foot to the floor.....and repeat, FOR THE REST OF YOUR WORKING LIFE! and in to your retirement.

Basically you are so preoccupied with literally putting one foot in front of the other, that you don't/can't turn up at the real fight.

The people setting this minefield up either never have to enter it, or have the layout/plans for it and know where the mines are laid, they can even defuse them at will and ignore certain people....the rest of us get to run this gauntlet daily. And believe you and me the people who set this up don't care whether you hit a mine or not.....some have even set up a very lucrative business detonating these mines and taking you out.

Pushing this bureaucratic, chaotic, illogical system, written in legalise, on us......well it is like giving a spanner and crox tool to a policy analyst and telling them that before they can write a policy on plumbing they have to fit a wet central heating system, with full plumbing and drainage services to a dwelling ON THEIR OWN......wait there I have an idea.......when you can do my job....I'll have a crack at yours.........

They wouldn't be able to do it, It would be beyond their scope of ability, knowledge and skills.....I do not want to be a policy "anal"ist, how much shit are they going to heap on to a one man band and the small business's.....you will need to employ a full time lawyer just to have a fighting chance.

We will progress better if we play to peoples strength's, lets those that can do one thing, do that one thing well....and let other people more predisposed to a task....bloody get on with it.

Ironic that most of this is brought in and enforced by the Board, that have an over representation by the bigger firms, by certain industry groups. Most of which might not want the honest and fair competition of the small business's, very ironic.

It should all be easy to understand, in plain English, with one system. Bring back inspectors.

Its almost like they want it so complicated that they want you stand on the mine/trap they have set..... is someone who enters a mine field without any knowledge of where the mines are, are they incompetent?, because they don't know where to stand.

How many f****in arrows do a one man need in his quiver.............

I'm all for a political party being set up - bring it on - count me in - I rather fancy sitting in one of those sheep skin lined chairs eyeballing the lying bastards to the left and right of me.  Truth will win in the end, and a party of practical people with no bullshit about themselves will be hard to run down.  Even Peter Dunne, who for years everyone thought was an honest Christian has been sucked into lying probably to keep his cushy taxpayer funded job.  Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  Point proved.  And now watch John Key ballet dance on the top of a tap - needing to distance himself on one hand, but not wanting to call for his resignation as an MP as that will put an end of a raft of legislation they wanted to get through.  I used to admire John Key but he too is about self preservation.  I have to say that the only MP's I admire are Ruth Dyson, Maryann Street and Chris Hipkins.  I think Stephen Joyce is a bloody good businessman - and cut throat, but he is wheeled out as the Minister who can fix it and keep Key's hands clean.  If this new political party isn't up and running by the next election I think I will struggle to find anyone that I have enough faith in to vote.
Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet
