Fellow Practitioner Issue 242 Dated 20 February 2015
« on: February 20, 2015, 06:38:27 AM »
Has the demise of the industry started again? The Auditor Generals report 5 years ago reported an environment of mistrust and historical complaints and that appears to be what we have now.  The so called "New Board" has created it's own historical complaints and issues.

Hypocritical behaviour or just stupid. See what you think.

The review of the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Act 2006 is about to begin.

From their training manual?

“Kinesthetic learners predominantly learn by “actually carrying out a physical activity, rather than listening to a lecture or merely watching a demonstration.” They are commonly known as doers and learn from taking part in the instruction; and tend to struggle with learning methods that include reading, writing and listening. Their behaviour may seem disruptive during a course, as they tend to need to play with something while they learn; the instructor needs to accommodate these characteristics by maybe having koosh balls available to be played with during instruction or building practical activities into the course.

the instructor needs to accommodate these characteristics by maybe having koosh balls.....they are treating us like pre-schoolers, sanctimonious pricks......FYI....Koosh will be the noise an instructors balls will make if they ever try to "accommodate" me in this way at a bullshit CPD course.....I am all for REAL training......

How about this.......

“Kinaesthetic WORKERS predominantly earn by “actually carrying out a physical activity, rather than listening to a lecture or merely watching a demonstration.....or pretending to be important while being incompetent of doing any physical or mental work......condescending twats.....

I think  “Kinesthetic must derive from the word kinetic which is a form of energy in motion....not sitting behind a desk acting like an office girl (bet I get more feed back on my "sexism", its a f****in joke).....
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

If any of the Board Members had any balls the industry wouldn't be in the predicament it's in.

Hey Badger, the office girls keep this industry going ...  if it wasn't for the billing out we wouldn't be anywhere!  I do agree that this is very condescending to tradespeople.  The joke is the same isn't applied to the registration exam - where is the "practical" element of testing in that.  I think that there is a truth in the fact that most tradesmen don't want to sit on their arse for two hours listening to some boring bugger drone on and on - and sadly many of the board's approved upskilling involves just that.  However, if they are doing something interesting, or something worthwhile most are happy to attend and become involved.

I wonder what sort of "learners" the people at the Board are?  Apart from slow that is.   Because it seems to me, no matter how erudite the explanations they are given on various things, no matter how many people engage in the consultation process and express their opinion, they listen to f**k all.  Mind you that's the first mistake on my part - actually thinking they give a shit what we think. What they care about is being able to tick the "consultation" box in the report to the Minister.  They refusal to take account of feedback from consultation is both arrogant and short sighted.

We need to ensure we fill in the surveys from MoBIE though and have another go at getting our thoughts on the state of play across.

Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

True Jax, my missis is an office girl and she is the strongest person I know.....

We may be Kinesthetic learners.....but at least we learn....the Board are arroganthetic learners......these are people who already know everything there is to know....so have no need to learn.

Tossers......
