Fellow Practitioner Issue 245 Dated 13 March 2014
« on: March 13, 2015, 05:41:21 AM »
Friday the 13th and the horror story continues.

With the current review of fees and levies and the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Act 2006,  it is timely to look at other options. The perception is the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board and Government have taken the stance the industry will supply unlimited manpower, budget and time. They have taken the “forced compliance stance” to such an extent that fixed costs now outweigh the costs of performing the functions they claim they are tasked with.

Did you know the Minister of Building and Housing. Dr Nick Smith has issued over 37 Media Releases since October last year?

We have heard lots of rumours that the Registrar/CEO Max Pedersen has resigned from the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board.

Licensed Building Practitioners Skills Maintenance requirements set to change is this the beginning of the end for them?

The actions of ministers who don't want to address issues is cowardly. Rather than deal with issues they try to ignore them and as it isn't costing the government anything they don't care. Our industry is just a minor number in the big picture and the cowards in government don't see any political gain so we are excluded and denied any rights as New Zealand citizens.  They harp on about the safety of the public but without us they don't have any protection at all. What's the government going to do when we refuse to protect the public, imprison us or our families and force us to work. The dorks in the Beehive and the PGDB do nothing to protect the public. Their pens and leather seats aren't doing shit. COWARDS COWARDS COWARDS
