the consult doc is flawed

you should not have to choose one of the licence classes in support of it for the submission form to be submitted if you do not agree with any of them

I do not agree with any of them however had to choose one or all in order for it to be allowed for submission

this will likely skew numbers

for the life of me I cannot understand the need for so many layers of crap for such a simple trade/skill set

registered/non-registered is where I stand now

I don't care if you have been in the trade for years done your apprenticeship but been to lazy to sit and pass registration exam


What really gets up my skirt is commentary like this:

Section 2 of the consult doc - Journeyman Class

Those who are employed in the relevant trade, and satisfy the Board
that they;
- have been so employed for seven years, or
- such shorter period as the Board may approve, and
- they are competent in the relevant trade they are employed in, and
- they are under the supervision of a REGISTERED and LICENCED CERTIFYING
 TRADESPERSON.

The English and grammar is absolutely abominable - every class of licence they wish to call/introduce used to describe one action!

This is what causes confusion - not only to the public with whom they pretend to protect but within the industry as well - do you think the CPD points suppliers with whom our licences and livelihoods depend have their head around this? They have a certain amount of control of it so you would think they might right? Doubt it...

WTF is wrong with something as simple as: they are under the supervision of a registered person.

I don't even believe there is a real need for licencing - if a plumber is registered, does something wrong, goes to tribunal, gets de-registered/suspended/fined whatever - only registered persons can have work signed off by council so there is enough of a deterrent there to keep the good guys straight - cowboys gonna be cowboys, black market will always be there
