Fellow Practitioner Issue 309 Dated 8 July 2016

Prisoners and Pre-Trades

Is a situation being created where people are being given basic knowledge and if the shit hits the fan they hand their problems over to someone who is properly trained? In our industry  this creates a risk to the public

We have Government and Government sponsored organisations telling us what we need as an industry but no one seems to want to listen to what we believe we NEED as an industry. No one wants to fund any changes and there is no proof other people’s ideas are going to work. We fund our own industry regulation yet have no say about the direction of the industry. There is lip service paid to us and we are expected to follow the direction of others.

Hi guys, `Turning prisoners into plumbers` , very interesting there is an old saying of: Temp an honest man enough and he will probably steal anything. Sooo, temptation in front of an ex-con will almost certainly be too much for him to resist. I am picking that clients of reputable or any plumbing company would not want ex crims working in/on their properties, cheers
