From the PGDB..."Please note that the current CPD scheme remains in force, but the date by which this year’s points must be obtained has been extended by a year, until 31 March 2013. This means that people who have not met their CPD requirements by March 2012 will not be prevented from relicensing at that time. However, they will need to have completed the current year’s points requirement plus the requirement for next year by 31 March 2013."

How can they carry over requirments for renewing your licence for next year to the following year?...are they running some sort of defered payment scam?...does this mean that i dont have to pay for my license next year as long as i pay twice the following year?...and also if i fail to get the required points for next years license and dont get them by the following years license time does all my work that i have done in the next year become illegal because i did not get the required points for the next year by the following years license time?...ans as well if i only get my points for the following year and neglect to get them for next year can i still get my license...as far as i see it you either impose the cpd on us or you put it to one side till your legal within the bounds of the Act!...so you drop it for next year cus your not within the bounds of the act! and you pick it up when you have legalised it, you have to be a dumb f**k to try and pass this off for being the actions of a compentant board!  you cant p*ss in my pocket and tell me its raining... a little confusing for me all this crap!? but thats exactly how they planned it i guess all those expensive lawyers and trying to be literal w**kers as i see it!
What a drop kick dip s**t action they have taken for now...you know theres a good reason they dont put the speed limit up to 200kph its because RESEARCH shows that its not safe to drive at 200kph...So where the heck is your research to say your exact system works...christ you stupid people at the board PLEASE learn to talk within the grounds of your knowledge!...any fool knows that the PRUDENT action is to abliosh the CPD SCAM till you have done the correct research and proven your methods as the correct methods and then introduce it to the market...do you think the first 200 attempts to make a PRV made it to the market???...NO of course they didnt because they did there research to make sure what they introduced was to bennifit THE HEALTH AND SAFETY of the public! and it ACTUALY worked...Taking action BECAUSE YOU think it is a good idea is just not good enough when it comes to the health and safety of the public!...you MUST be sure(compentant) of your actions and as i see it at the moment your fumbling around for a light switch in the dark!.

Don't know if anyone has any information out there regards a current CPD course that's running with RMC and Plumbing World. I've been told that the 16 credits that you get from it are available to Plumbers. Gasfitters and Drainlayers. Well maybe i'm missing something but what have RMC valves got to do with Gasfitting and Drainlaying? Has anyone been on this one or have any information?

Touche!!  But apparently true.  I have had 20 staff attend and they were told that the points could be credited to plumbing, gasfitting or drainlaying.  With all respect to RMC (an apparently the course is very interesting) - it yet again highlights the stupidity of the current "points' system.  To be honest I think that the PGDB are not going to argue too much about any points while it is all in flux.

Hi guys/thunder, you obviously got this too.
Dear submitter Thank you once again for taking the time to make a submission on the Board’s CPD proposal. The Board values your feedback. The Board received 444 submissions in relation to the reviewed CPD scheme proposed for plumbers, gasfitters and Drainlayers. At its meeting on 6 December 2011, the Board considered all submissions it received.
The majority of the submissions did not support the proposal. Many submitters expressed the view that a proposal that did not contain a requirement for any ‘structured’ learning to be undertaken would not achieve the competence outcomes the industry needed.
Accordingly, the Board has decided not to proceed with its proposed scheme. The Board will now modify the scheme to incorporate many of the suggestions contained in the submissions received. A new round of consultation will then be undertaken. Please note that the current CPD scheme remains in force, but the date by which this year’s points must be obtained has been extended by a year, until 31 March 2013. This means that people who have not met their CPD requirements by March 2012 will not be prevented from relicensing at that time. However, they will need to have completed the current year’s points requirement plus the requirement for next year by 31 March 2013.
I suspect that the 444 submissions were from federation members.
What they will do now is run another consultation to keep themselves busy in their high paid jobs funded by us, and hope for apathy to win the day. We all need to stick to our resolve to make sure that any changes made are to our liking and advantage. Hopefully the federation will have more members to reply to the next round of consutations, cheers

hi guys, this statement from the board is what APATHY will produce:-

Non-response bias occurs in surveys if the answers of respondents differ from the potential answers of those who did not answer. In this case
Those not responding might be more (or less) likely to support the Board's proposals.
  cheers,
