Keep an eye out for Certonline
« on: May 19, 2013, 07:37:26 PM »
Hey there all , have been doing some research into this new certification issue and there is a system arriving in a matter of weeks,  which will provide a very similar system to what we are all using at present. Keep your eyes peeled for  " CERTONLINE", I have seen the system and looks impressive for its capabilities and professionalism meeting  all  current legislation and provides a fully secured user login and can only be used by certified Gasfitters who are up to date with the licensing obligations. From what I have seen I am in,  as it takes a lot of the hassle away , the info is stored and can be made accessible to the PDGB for audit purposes, and most of all I don't have all this paperwork to store and complete, if you have seen the legal requirements that a gas cert must have I would not be wasting me time, so keep an eye out for CertOnline (email campaign) and when I know any more I will post,

Johnno - if it can be made available to the PGDB for audit purposes - do you think that will only be the certificate owner's permission?

Maybe legal have a spamming devision now?

Sounds like a plug for a money making scheme to me...

Probably not a bad idea really, create a nice user friendly website that dots all the i's crosses all the t's - tithe it to the PGDB - charge a small fee to use your site and database - get a kickback from the board at the same time - hey Preston Bob's your uncle nice wee money earner!!

ok,tell me please , what was wrong with the original system, you know the one where a inspector was called to check the job, paperwork signed and gas turned on.
seems to me anything that seems to work and cover more than one base is scraped as if to justify the need for more change.
So many changes , why change the code from 5261, other than making more costs.
Why was the apprenticeship scheme changed from what worked well and produced pretty good tradesmen.
Beats me , ..... i will say change if it is for the better but it seems to be change for what?, its starves stability. What do others think???????
