Rodza, think of this.... the fewer plumbers that are out there, the less competition for those that remain in business have to compete against, those that run the show and decide who to f**** over are at an advantage and get to stay in business.......

It is a vicious circle that keeps reaffirming their position of power, and it will get worse if they aren't stopped....simple as.

We can join together today and take them on......or you can wait for them to pick us off one by one until they have it all. Its blatant mate and so very sad.

How does it help a situation like CHCH for example, we have Tradie NZer's leaving for Oz and we are importing 600 skilled migrants, WTF? It don't add up mate. If the public were made aware they would not stand for it. Poor sods in CHCH are living in 3rd world conditions and the rest of the country are scrapping for work ??? Why?
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

Hi guys /jax

Cut some of the bullshit layers that the ITO have - more money directly into training institutions and less money into administrative beasts like the ITO.

Speaking of which - what happened to the million dollars handed over from the PGDR ITO to the Skills Organisation that was funding specifically for plumbers, gasfitters, drainlayers and roofers?  Where has it gone, what is it being used for?  It was meant to be ringfenced for use by our industries and not swallowed up by the larger organisation.

I have asked the question before and ask it again.

Why the hell do we actually need the ITO leaching our money why not just deal direct with the training institutions and f*ck the ITO?

This system works kinda well in Oz so its just possible there onto a good thing but what would I know

Unless the moral improves the floggings will continue

hi guys, John Key announced that he was going to fix the apprenticeship scheme so as to enable (fast track) more tradesmen for the ch-ch rebuild, to do that for our trades he will have to sack the minister and the board as they control the apprentices and licensing system to the point to where no one in their right mind would get into our trades, I guess it is watch this space, cheers

I agree Robbo, but the public need to know about it first, most people who I talk to think as a plumber you are totally minted with more money than you could shake a stick at.......no one in the general public seem to know about these people and the cost imposed......its not until you "live the dream" as it were, do you find out.....lucky us.

Hi Robbo, I totally agree with your above comment. "I do believe the minister & the PM need to suck my balls. That is what it comes down to.

Rich get richer, poor get poorer. Better off growing drugs in NZ or going to Auz to get a REAL job with proper renumeration."
