Points Training
« on: February 14, 2012, 08:37:57 AM »
hi guys, got some e-mails from Fletchers today outlining a couple of problems and some solutions to Health and Safety for Tradesmen. I believe that this is the way to go for "Points Training", get sent information such as this, acknowledge that we have printed/read/saved info to our "Points Training Folder" and bingo X amount of relicencing points, a win win all round, cheers

This just shows what a sorry state the industry is in when we have to even consider something like this as upskilling. What happened to come bloody sense
Unless the moral improves the floggings will continue

hi guys/ intergrated, no i was`nt having a laugh, what is your idea of "upskilling" you obviously like paying lots of bucks and wasting your time listening to shit that you already know, all we need is information and if e-mail is the way to get points to justify this crazy system then i am in, lets hear your preference, cheers

i dont like forking out money for anything that is un-necessary - by suggesting that emails and such like could be an appropriate form of upskilling is buying into the tripe they are trying to force on the industry - waste of time = waste of $$

i believe that upsklling should be legislatively based only - and only done when changes in legislation are proven necessary and come in to effect with a 12mth grace period for all to uptake

i dont believe any manufacturers and/or suppliers should have any involvement in it whatsoever - all it does is give them leverage to product push

no offense robbo but as for safety with ladders and associated things -ffs - where's the common sense - maybe a sitesafe passport should be a mandatory part of nzcert in plumbing

Knowing Robbo's black sense of humour from this forum I think Integrated, that it was all said tongue firmly in cheek.  It won't be long until ladders are banned from sites and everyone has to work off mobile scaffolds.  There is no licence given at all for trade training and common sense unfortunately.  The PC police are actively at it!

Hi guys, the point that I trying to make is that I don`t believe in points training for licence procural at all, “up skilling” yes but not for points, we have always done it.
In my opinion if we are to have this crap system then I do not care how points are accumulated or who puts up courses as long as they free and easy and if I can get them by e-mail I’m in cheers.   As a matter of interest Air New Zealand engineers are up skilled by e-mail.

I hear what ya saying robbo - i have no problem with that up-skill medium but perhaps the content of said medium -

out of interest what sort of up-skill requirements does your engineer friend have to meet?

hi guys/intergrated, i am told by an engineer at Air.N.Z. that they are informed of changes/new methods/new regs by e-mail, they then acknowledge the upgrade by way of accepting the mail then they print off the upgrade and add it to what they call thier "Skills Folder" thats it apparently, it`s always there for disscusion and future reference, cheers
