We urgently require the best ‘NZ Certified Gas Fitter/Plumber’ we can find to help with Christchurch rebuild work. The work will be predominantly residential new build Gas Fitting with the successful person enjoying the diversity of working with the plumbing team on occasion for an interesting work life.

Requirements:
Strong intelligent diagnostic and problem solving ability, quality workmanship skills and a great attitude!  Self- motivated with understanding of the time frames involved in residential new build work. Highly experienced gas fitter with residential new build know-how and proven performance. We expect you to be well versed with current gas regulations and standards to ensure safety and compliance for all involved.

hi guys,yeah I've met this lady who is very friendly and good to deal with but unfortunately companies are employing agencies to recruit tradesmen. $30.00 per hr. would be what the tradesman gets and I suspect that at least double that would be charged to the company.  I once applied through an agency who revealed that they charged 12% of the annual wage of the person employed for them to find that person for the company, I think our trades are doomed as far as earning a fair wage is concerned considering the amount of knowledge and up skilling we are required to have then add licence/compliance fees costs on top,cheers 

hi guys, yes and I bet if they can CONvince a certifier then I bet you what you like that he would be supervising half a doz of those even cheaper `unlicensed under supervision` labourers, no disrespect to  labourers they are rebuilding Christchurch, but working in our trades doing registered men's work is just underhanded and devised by the board and master plumbers assn.,cheers

We're offering up to $50 an hour for skilled and experienced candidates, and you choose the jobs you do. We handle billing, let you pick the work you want to do, and let you define where and when you work.
The role will suit someone recently qualified or with a few years under their belt.
We're looking for someone who has the following:
Must have PGDB registration
    A high level of workmanship
    Honest
    Reliable
    Works well in a team but also able to work independently
    Must have own van and tools
    Must have a clean full NZ Drivers License
You will have a good practical knowledge of the plumbing industry and a 'can do' attitude.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Have a good look at it guys, this is simply a contractors position where the rate should be over $85.00 per hour. By the time you pay for your vehicle, ACC, tax etc what will you have left out of your $50.00.   Close to $50.00 per hour should be  a wages rate not a contractors.
