I had the pleasure of him on my panel at my hearing, he was actually the only certifying gasfitter in the room and he's English.....so he didn't know about the British Standard that would have put me 100% in the clear??

Top Quality people on the Board....at least they are re-appointing them by their past performance.....

You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

He was the only certifying gasfitter on my dodgy panel at my hearing......the hearing where no one was held accountable for nearly killing someone.....real safety conscience..... Hardly, oh er Hardie.....

A Wanganui company director had his two-year term on the national Plumber, Gasfitters' and Drainlayers' Board extended by another three years.

Graham Hardie, the sole director of River City Gas, was appointed to the board by Maurice Williamson, the Minister of Building and Construction, two years ago.

The industry board's prime function is to protect the health and safety of the public.

"I was thrilled at the opportunity to continue and the confidence the Minister has shown in reappointing me for a further three years," Mr Hardie said.

"The first term was particularly challenging with a considerable amount of work being achieved within the accountability agreement that the board has with the Minister, in setting and meeting expectations.

"No doubt, the next three years will be just as challenging.

"However, I'm excited at the opportunities ahead in contributing to make changes that ultimately ensure the on-going safety of the New Zealand public.

"And that will also mean fostering relationships with registered and non-registered tradespeople," he said.

Mr Hardie established River City Gas in 1997. And while he settles in for another term with the national industry board, his firm had taken on another gas service technician.

Darryl Kyte has had 26 years with the industry and his arrival brings the number of technical staff in the company to six. He spent eight years with River City Gas before moving away.

I am pretty sure this all happened back in September......surely he wouldn't do this to get some free advertising, not a stand up guy like him.

hi guys, ("And that will also mean fostering relationships with registered and non-registered tradespeople," he said.) I suppose that is a step in the right direction, he just has to convince the others, cheers
