In this issue there are 7 prosecutions listed. Only 1 of them is actually a qualified tradesman. The other 6 are cowboys. I do hope that these numbers are not indicative of the ratio of plumbers to cowboys in the industry.  As the board seeks to justify it's existence I suppose we can expect more prosecutions of cowboys at our expense. Surely this is a good example of why the Govt should fund the PGDB prosecutions

Check out the Annual Report - a HUGE SURPLUS OF $922906.00!!  WTF!  $210005.00 relates to discipline levies and $64701.00 relates to offence prosecutions.  They have started Memorandum Accounts finally, after being asked for some years to do this - but when you look closer you see the Allocated overheads for these areas are either in excess of direct costs, or bloody close to it.

Disciplinary Process:
Income (Discipline Levy)     $1046,912.00
Expenditure:
Direct expenditure              $  358307.00
ALLOCATED OVERHEADS
Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

ALLOCATED OVERHEADS     $218,740.00

Unspent funds available for future years offences activities       $64701.00

So just imagine what money has been sucked up in previous years with no Memorandum Accounting.

hi guys, yes Jax these are figures that the beloved public should be blasted with as these are the funds that we pay to the board so as to protect their health and safety from unlicenced work. The public have no idea of the complience fees that we pay in order to `go to work`,i have never heard of the board putting out statements for the public to understand these charges, all that you hear is how much plumbers rip off the public by cheers

I particularly liked the Matt Bowman spin, oh sorry "story".....no mention that it was covered up and he had to fight tooth and nail for recognition....... ???
