  16 September 2010
     Media Statement

Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board Building and Construction Minister Maurice Williamson today announced the appointment of Peter Jackson, Bill Irvine, Sue Ineson, John Simmis, Graham Hardie, and Alan Bickers to the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board. I expect the Board to ensure the sector is governed by a regulatory regime that is open, accountable, reasonable and fair.” The Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board is a stand-alone statutory body that manages the licensing and professional development of plumbers, gasfitters, and drainlayers.. It operates under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006 administered by the Department of Building and Housing. Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet
