should be put up more as that still works out cheaper than registered license

if they put costs over that of registered licenses then maybe those on an exemption might have some motivation to get off there arse and get properly qualified - lower registered cost higher exempt cost - surely those on exemption in general will be of greater risk to public safety also?

It will be to pay for all the staff at the Board that are now involved in the exam setting, you know the ones that F****D up sending out the right codes etc in Wellington, and to pay for the taxi that was sent back to the office in Wellington to pick up the right stuff, and bring it out.  Oh, and maybe for the overtime of the exam supervisor that would have had to stay longer because it all took at hour or more to sort out...  just a suggestion....
 

They are after the likes of me who have held a gasfitting exemption for more than 20 years.
I have forgotten more about gasfitting than most certifying gasfitters actually know.
I'm happy to pay the exemption fee. I still go to the upskilling stuff even though I don't need to. End of the day, safety comes first.

It wasn't sneaky.  I believe it was an act of bath faith to get them another 12 months of illegal funding.  You would think the people on the Board with all their qualifications would know right from wrong, particularly those that are a Justice of the Peace.

These are the people we should be able to trust but I would have to say that in my opinion after 36 years in the industry this would be the most devious, underhanded Board that I have encountered. I believe these people are not fit to sit in judgement of us in discipline issues.

And where is the Government and Parliament through all this.  Well it seems they don't care and Maurice Williamson continues to support the incompetence and acts of bad faith.  Just wait and see what tactics they pull with the review of the Act.

Perhaps the only way to get this sorted is to oust the Government and sack the Board.  Anyone out there interested in starting a Political party for the next election. I'm sure the Public of New Zealand are ready for a practical common sense approach to governance of the country. Lets fight for our industry and future for our families. How about "New Zealand Focused"

Its an extreme move but we are all working our guts out for bludgers and its not getting any better. Just because they went to university doesn't make them any better or more intelligent than us. Just a thought.
