hi guys/Roberto, this is the e-mail i got today,cheers:-
Impending change to the Board’s online public register

The Board will soon implement a change to the online public register for plumbers, gasfitters and drainlayers making some contact information public. From today you can log in to your profile on the register and update your contact details.

Why is the Board making this change?

This change is being made to ensure the register complies with the requirements of the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006.

Who will be affected by the change?

This change will affect registered persons and provisional licence holders who hold a current licence.

What information will be available on the online public register?

The online public register will contain:

• some contact information such as a business address (if any), preferred contact number, and email address (if any), for registered persons and provisional licence holders who hold a current licence

• information about the status and history of registrations and practising licences, and any cancellations, suspensions, or disciplinary action taken in the last three years, to the extent that the information is relevant.

If, as a registered person or provisional licence holder, you have a business address, it must be supplied. If you do not, you can choose whether to provide a residential address, but this is not required. You must supply a telephone number, whether it is a business or personal landline or mobile number. You must also supply an email address unless you do not have one.

When will the change take place?

The change to the online public register was originally scheduled to go live to the public on 25 June 2012. The Board has now decided to roll out the change at a later date and in two stages. Stage one will provide access to tradespeople. Stage two will provide public access. This will give tradespeople more time to understand the information that will be made public on the online public register and update their details accordingly.

Stage 1 – access to tradespeople from 9 July 2012

On 9 July 2012, some of the names of the contact fields on your PGDB profile were updated to clearly indicate the purpose for which the information is collected. You can login now to your PGDB profile and update your contact details. Important: none of your information will be available on the online public register until 1 August 2012. This is simply an opportunity for you to login to your PGDB profile and update your information.

Stage 2 – public access on 1 August 2012

On 1 August 2012, the change to the online public register will go live to the public.

What if you don’t want your contact information to be available on the online public register?

The Act requires the Board to have a register, and sets out the purpose of the register and the information it has to contain. The Board is required to comply with this law.The Act provides discretionary powers to restrict public access to some information. An easy-read guide and policy about how such decisions will be made is now available online.

If there is a reason why you do not want any information available on the online public register, you are now able to submit an online request to withhold your contact information by logging into your PGDB profile under the ‘my details’ section. Alternatively, please send an email to the Registrar setting out your request, clearly explaining the reasons for your request, and including any supporting documentation. Your contact information will be withheld from the online public register until your request has been considered and a decision made of which you will be notified. From today

If you have any questions please call the Board on 0800 743 262.

Thunder your log in is your rego number, but you need to contact the PGFD and they will give you your password which you can change once you are logged in.  The front page has a tab for the trade, go here and then there is a log in tab, once you log in using your log in number and password then you go to My details and there it all unfolds.  You can also check licence status, pay for your licence through here, check your CPD points, check if you are supervising anyone - all sorts of things.  If you email licensing@pgdb.co.nz and ask for a password (give them your rego number and name) they can email you your password.  Everyone should ensure they have a password and log on details so they can check info is valid and correct and also keep an eye on the points etc.  It's all pretty painless to do.  All my guys at work have been logging on and changing everything public to the work address and phone number and also the work email address.

Hi guys....do any one know of any of the Board members/employees qualifications, mistakes, disciplinary matters, court actions, both in and settled out of court, personal details, home addresses, trips abroad funded by tradesman, CPD undertaken, how they totally made a pigs ear of the gas cert register (which will now be conveniently wound down), etc, etc, etc.

I want to start a public register on line so the public can judge the performance, qualifications and know the where abouts of these clowns........... Or are they more entitled to privacy and protection than the people/industry who fund them?????????????

What is good for the goose is just fine for the gander.

I am thinking of a facebook account called "the Dumber, Arsefitter and Brain "de"layers Board" with all the photos, paper trail and evidence on there. Lets have it in a public form.
You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

Hi badger

Can we also put a google map direction to each house and a possible reward for each and every egging and flour bombing incident confirmed ( I suggest at least a handle of beer)  :P :P
Unless the moral improves the floggings will continue
