It was very dissappointing to see that the ages ranged from late 20's to 40's for registration and the Certifying guys aged from 50 to nearly dead. If  my exam was indicative of all, then there wont be any registered guys in a few years just the old farts.

$300 to pay for venue, supervisors, and exam markers...  Nothing for nothing matey!  I think the markers get a set fee for each paper they mark.  And yeah, you're right you are paying for the paper and ink too.

Well amen tot hat - our ITO are not pulling their weight.  They are short on communication, quality control and money!!  Questions hang over their heads like the executioners axe - it just needs to fall on the right persons head.  National Certificates are appalingly slow in coming out to trainees who have completed (and I'm talking 12 weeks and counting) - with absolutely NO, ZERO, ZIP communication to said trainees about why they are held up.  There are questions around the quality of the learning material - which meets with a standard answer around the rigour that this material goes through before being put to market - and yet, mistakes are still found.  When mistakes are found and acknolwedged - are the corrected immediately - no - the ITO wait for another print run.  In the meantime trainees continue to pull their hair out when they can't understand it. 

For years we wanted to know who the mysterious people were who set the registration exams - and now we want to know who the "evaluators" are that go over the learning material.  It's like a secret club.  Too many academics running the show and not enough consultation with the customers!! 
If the Chamber of Commerce can get some sort of inquiry going then ITO's will quake in their boots.  They have been feeding at the trough for too long and have not been accountable enough to their customers.  Transparency is non existent.  The PGDRITO Board need to have a long hard look at their processes and perhaps take a leaf out of the PGDB book - and maybe call in at a few block courses and hear the complaints of the trainees for the substandard learning materials they are being dished up, talk to some employers and see what they think about the one week block courses and even talk to the tutors and get their feedback - becasue it seems to me there are grumbles coming from all corners - with no one listening and engaging beyond lip service.
