Big congratulations to your son.  None of my lads have gotten their marks yet - still waiting - hopefully today....
Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

Well results in for all but one of my apprentices.  All passed and marks ranged from 64% to 83% - smiling faces all round from the apprentices and the tradesmen who trained them!! ;D

hi guys/Thunderhead, wonder where you got that name from?? hope you don`t fail, cheers

HaHa well its sorta like this Thunderhead...S  puff puff give give get the jist lmao...ooh and i got a loud opinion on things and other peoples replys never faze me cus that there view and they are fully entitled to it, just like im entitled to my own view of the world...and yea sometimes i do go off the deep end to prove my point but thats just me so either get over it or move on cus i am not gonna change unless proved wrong through solid facts....And im not too worried about my results cus the exam was based on the G12 and G13 codes and as we had both infront of us one would have to be a complete fool not to get a pass mark(haha probablys just shot myself in the foot there lmao)
anyways eargerly awating my results...And i owe most of my knowledge(not book knowledge) about plumbing to my employer and feel lucky he does upmarket plumbing where everything is done correctly to code.
Anyway i stick to my comment if i was in charge of this PGDB it would be run a hell of a lot more proffesional and not a wishy washy yea around so and so i will send...this does not send a proffesional image to anyone AT ALL!

hi guys/Thunderhead, no offence buddy just seemed to be an appropriate comment after the one from A1, as you say everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i do understand yours, just remember that  "you will catch more flys with honey than you will with vinegar" cheers
p.s. if you are worried about spelling there is a spell checker to consult or you can construct your post in `Word`then copy and paste it to the forum(ctrl C then ctrl V)

cheers robbo no offense taken of course were all in the same boat and i know my mouth can rant and rave from time to time cus thats the way i am...im sitting here for my results at the moment that were sposed to arrive today judging by the phone call i got today from NZ post...but still not here yet boohoo...no worries my steinlager pure has put any end to my worries at the moment lol...and i got over spell checks a long time ago lol cheers anyway i just think as long as others can get the message that i try to convey then its all good...But im a strong beliver that something has to be done about this disaplin fee of a coupple of hundred...its like them saying that they expect us to be brought before the board...and it annoys the heck outa me cus i strive to do everything correctly...and i think why should i pay the board to take others to court when those taken to court should be the ones fitting the bill...this part of the fees should be publicly funded because its there to serv the public it does nothing for us but incriminate us...so im paying the board to oneday incriminate me if i do anything wrong and even then they have to prove this on my back...i just think this is so wrong all those plumbers out there that uphold the codes get stung...this is a service for the public and so should be payed by the public! and when someone is convicted of wrongdoing then they are charged with the cost of the investigation...why should i have to pay for it I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG...I AM INNOCENT. yet i am forced to pay and this in my eyes is wrong...INNOCENT TILL PROVED GUILTY is the saying isnt it? so i pay guilty fees yet i am innocent?...CPD should be held once every three years not every year again this is a crappy way to run things BECAUSE we all know things in the plumbing world dont move so fast so CPD is not needed to be held every year...these people that are ment to be leading us have lost touch with realerty in my view...a common thing that happnes to those at the top...one only has to for example watch undercover boss usa to realise that those at the top ONLY deal with figures and never fully realise the implications there judgements have on the average man. shit too much typing time for a beer...have a good weekend all.

cheers people but we all know that marks on a pieace of paper means squat on someones ability to do a good tidy job...but it definitley helps some hehehe...ooh crap here i go again!...whilst i was very happy to get the mark that i did get...i was a little lost on the fact that the PGDB is pushing this CPD so hard...yet when i got my paper back i found the questions that i had got wrong had no correct answers pointed out to me...no hint no explaing why i had the wrong answer or where to go to find the correct answer...From the PGDB this is a bit lax i thought because i thought i had the right answer of course...now im missing bits of info which could easerly be righted if only the marker at the time who had the prefect answer infront of them could have passed that info on to me after all isnt that what CPD is all about and by the PGDB helping me to the correct answer they ARE protecting the public by helping me to enhance my knowledge?
I think this would be a great thing for all conserned doing any PGDB exam to if they answer the question incorrectly to be provided the correct answer...NOT to cheat or anything like that BUT to LEARN and to progress in ones CPD!....

It is a good way to do this cus this is where the saying "STRIKE WHILST THE IRON IS HOT" applies...

Hows that one robbo hehehe ;D

hi guys/Thunder, good one much more diplomatic post, the thing is if we express ourselves like "cloth cap yobbo`s" we will be treated the same and ignored so the more diplomatic the better but still getting our point across is the way forward. The reason the board are pushing cpd is to generate more income for themselves, as you realise an information highway is the way forward for all, my idea is an e-mail system that is covered in the cost of our licence where we receive relevant info/new regs/product info etc which we have to acknowledge by a built in return system, this could happen so many times in the licence year and even some multi choice questions that have to be answered. These questions could be used at re-licence time whereby if you have`nt read/answered and returned them ,then you cannot be re-licenced until you have done, seems simple to me the board could contract unitec/open poly or similar to carry out the system that way we would not have to make special trips to training facilities at unsociable/work times and at great cost in time and travel. I am sure that someone in the teaching industry could tailor the perfect system to make everone happy, any thoughts, cheers
