June 2009 Craftsman Common
« on: June 08, 2009, 12:22:14 AM »
Ok, so whats up with Questions 1, 2 & 3

Did anyone have study material and informed knowledge regarding these?

It just seemed way to detailed, and the marks assigned to these seemed excessive.

Love to hear your views.

were those the equations?
yea i did study them, only from previous exams, but on discharge power i didnt know if D was in meters or mm. so  put .080 as D but i had now idea how to "compare" them, and on the last equation i stuffed up because i was trying to change jouls to kw where the equation was right in front of me and i ran out of time, gutted.

ha my brain went dead, I remembered after the exam that the 'power of dicsharge' is a stupid name for a stupid question. their formula D to the power of 5 square rooted was only part of what you have to do.
you have to divide the smaller number(dia.) into the bigger number then use ths formula. This is a stupid question as not too many people ( including registered craftsmen) wouldnot know that off the top of their head without first refering to a manual or googling it. I guess I  am scepticial of the Whole process as I have collected other peoples exam papers and found huge marking errors, ambiguous/ poorly written  Questions and I have academic support from qualified academics Who are bemused by the whole farce. :).

hi, i hope you get through it, i am craftsman from way back when, don`t think i would pass it either, i feel for you guys. don`t you think that with all the knowledge required for craftsman plumber, you would be better studying for B.E. at university, surely it would not be any harder but the rewards would be far greater, i wish that i would have done it, good luck.

These were the answers I was hoping for.

There is about 0.0000000001% relevance to these questions in regard to plumbing!

What the hell are these exams about, especially when formulas are not given!

Seriously, they are asking rubbish questions.

I want them to ask me something I have studyed!

Oh well, life goes on

Craftsman common was a massive crock, i mean honestly u values?! As for that discharge power question, i'm fuming. I used a different formula as i didnt know how to do d to the power of 5 on my calc, run the numbers and most probably got the correct answer, and then did the comparison, and got absolutley zero marks for that one. Interested as to what other answers were ( I got 4/1 comparison). F
