Re plumbing cert exam
« on: January 10, 2016, 10:09:41 AM »
Hey chaps ,I've decided to take the plunge and sit my certifying plumbing exam in June, just wondering apart from the pervious exams what other sources of info did  you guys use to help out. I know when I passed my licensed paper a couple of years ago the old exam papers were a huge help. I basically studied the shit out of them to a point where I basically knew the answers to all questions and then just read  up on a few other things. Any help is much appreciated

I would say your on the right track just may pay to have a look at the prescription for the exam and competency for a certifying plumber on the boards website. That should be enough to make  your eyes bleed :D
Best of luck and your not alone I'm going to have a crack at my certifying gas in June all going well!

Thanks the biggest problem im seeing is most of the past exams have plans which you have to draw up hot water systems or wastes and vents, but the answer side of the paper doesnt have the answer just a guideline for the maker to go by.Do i just read up on the regs ??

yes you most certainly are to have had your license paid up - you should not be practicing if it has not been - what license have you been on for the last year or two?

Bugman, ring the PGDB and ask to speak to licensing or the CEO - you can apply for an exemption from the requirements with good reasons.  Don't sit and stew on it, ring and talk about it - I'm sure you will feel much better when you know what needs to be done.

Well that went well {not},they refused my request and now I have to resign from my position so I can have any chance of becoming a craftsman. No wonder people hate the PGDB

Just wait until you jump through every single hoop and jump over every hurdle then set up a great little business.....then the corrupt bastards set you up for some thing you tried to warn about for 6 years before it happened....while lying about you..... sending your wife child sexual case notes and wreck your business making you work away from your family for years and years (still am too, this was back in 2009).....I passed hate along time ago.

FYI mate the guy responsible for the explosion that I was set up for......got given his full certifying gas license after one oral exam, no apprenticeship....then when he nearly killed some one the corrupt cunts framed me for it......AND APPOINTED THE SAME BLOKE WHO GIFTED THE LICENSE AS THE IMPARTIAL INVESTIGATOR......some of the same people on the Board now......

You can't choose who you are.....but you are the sum of your choices.......

They want apprentices to work for them and make them money....not craftsman as competition in business.

What area are you from Bugman?  There is a SERIOUS shortage of tradesmen in the Auckland and Wellington at least.  You are licensed and I would have thought firms would jump through hoops to get someone like you who is on the way to becoming a certifier.  If you give a rough geographical idea of where you are based and what your background is you never know who on here might be looking for someone just like you.  Have you done mostly domestic/commercial/installations/maintenance?  Are you willing to shift?  What are your long term plans?  Go in to business or work for someone else?   You have the exam, now you just need the time to "cook".
