Overseas plumbers
« on: July 07, 2011, 12:53:32 AM »
Greeting all,
I'm new to this site and I was wondering who of you have read the Report from the Auditor General.
I am helping 5 UK plumbers take their case to the politicians,Plumbing board, and ombudsmen office.
I am also a huge supporter of Wal and Allan day in their fight for justice for you guys.
I was instrumental in getting the story about the UK plumber into the back of the report and the results and outcome from section 7 about the plumbing boards lack of discretion when if came to issuing licences to City of London Guilds plumbers,
please read this and post your ideas on this story.
If you are an immigrant plumber , or you know someone who is, I would like to talk to you
You will be able to contact me through Wal's weekly newsletter.
He will list this information this week
Although I am not a plumber, I'm a builder, and we need to stick together and collectively fight the good fight,
Don't let someone do all the work for you  and you reap the rewards,Stand up and be counted - Redneck

Yeah it seems to be an injustice, can we as gasfitters rock on into the U.K and work as gasfitters??????????, we can as plumbers, because anyone can do plumbing over there.

Hi hez
If you went to the uk you would be able to plumb for yourself and you would stand or fall on the quality of your work
But of course everybody knows that the kiwi plumber is sort after, all over the world and of course as we are told better trained.
When it comes to gas they would have to contact the gas safe registration body and if you could prove your expertise by sitting the 15gas safety courses then you would be able to run your gas business
This could take acouple of months and about $2.5k but it won't be easy like gas in Nz
No safety no proper training I don't mean to be rude but we have to work on the latest condensing boilers and gas fire etc we purge smoke test spillage test co test check flame picture etc etc

But in answer to your it would be alot easier for you guys and you would learn alot and better still earn alot up to $230ahr good luck
