Hi - I wondered if anyone here has wrestled with this issue and found a solution?

E3/AS1 3.3.3 states shower wall liners and enclosures must extend at least 300mm above the shower rose.

1800mm high kitset shower enclosures are very common in the market, and a compliant shower rose in one of these would need to be positioned no more than 1500mm above floor level to comply (300mm below the top of the enclosure and impervious liner.)

This is below chin height on an average adult and seems very impractical.

Every major NZ bathroom suppliers (as well as Mitre10/Bunnings etc) has in their literature, photos of completed shower enclosures with slide shower fittings that have the shower rose virtually at the top of the  enclosure, with paint finished walls above the liner.

Are all of these non-compliant, or is there another means of compliance for this type of installation?

Asking as I bought one of these enclosure sets to replace a very ugly 1970s shower base and cubicle, that a past owner has retrofitted with a nice modern mixer and slide shower. I would prefer not to touch any of the fixed plumbing, and just re-install all fittings over the new liner, as that would be a simple DIY project. But the head will be near the top of the liner and enclosure and according to 3.3.3 that isn't right.

Thanks! After a bit more reading, according to 3.1.2 sheet lining with a gloss or semi gloss coating complies, so aqualine gib painted is fine.
