leaky tempering valve
« on: June 15, 2011, 09:26:19 PM »
Hey, I found the tempering valve of my water cylinder mains is leaking. It only leaks (Slow drips) when hot water is used. Since it's not that major leaking, is there a easy way I can fix it myself? If it's too much of work, I'm happy to call a plumper. Just thought I may want to hear some ideas from other people first.

Attached a photo of the leaky bit.

Cheers
Ray

Here's a better photo attached.  It the seal between the plastic and the metal bit I think. Thanks for the help.

yup im with robbo ray if it was leaking at the connection point between the valve and the copper then it is a simple washer replacment job...but because it is leaking from the valve body this would suggest that the valve is reaching the end of its working life and is in need of replacment...
