The matters must be necessary to protect the health and safety of the public, promote the prevention of damage to property and promote competency.

MUST BE NECESSARY TO...these words are like looking at a backflow situation...First of all you MUST identify the the issue...then you must give this issue a danger rating...then only after you have IDENTIFIED what the issue is and what level of danger it holds to the health and safety of the plublic AND ONLY AFTER you have done that then can you apply what device is needed to fix the issue.

So we are told to do compentancy traning which is the device to avert the issue WITHOUT the stupid board identifying what the REAL issue is and what danger it holds to the safety of the public....for example if they in two years prossicuted ten plumbers for not having the correct air gap on tundishes for TPR/CWEV's then here we have an identified ISSUE and now we have identified the issue we can now rate the level of danger that issue holds to the plublic and ONLY after that we can prescribe compentcey courses to undertake...

The act already reckonises we are already compentant tradespeople(spelling doesnt count thankfully lol) by the wording AND PROMOTE COMPETENCY...these words say to me you are already compentant and we would like to enhance/promote your compentancy

prevention of damage to property..well i dont know how this stupid wording got in cus it wasnt plumbers that caused the leaky house syndrome!

after reading the last golden newsletter from wal i now understand exactly why this CPD requriment is actually illegal...and no matter what there flash new lawyer board member tries to do it will remain illegal simply because of the wording and she cant change the wording...even a lay person like me can see the intent of this passage of words...IT is about Promoting NOT ENFORCING...and they are trying to enforce on us an illegal scam as part of a requriment to me an already compentant tradesperson renewing my license...remember i have already displayed my compentancy by sitting my apprentiship 8000hours on site traning and doing arount 12 weeks of tech traning and ALSO displaying my compentance by not being brought before the board on any charges of incompentant plumbing!

Now if the board ACTUALLY displayed to me a need for certin training aspects to be undertaken i would be happy to undertake it...but just throwing in a whole heap of dipshit! courses and then telling me it MUST BE NECESSARY TO...

i have no problem undertaking training that HAS been PROVEN as been necessary to promote safety and PROMOTE(not enforce)my compentance i will do it with a smile on my face...

So it is very logicaly easy to see what the pgdb is attempting to do is actually illegal and contradicts the ACTUAL intent of this wording.

The matters must be necessary to protect the health and safety of the public, promote the prevention of damage to property and promote competency.

If this was an enforcement document it would have diffrent wording like Shall,Must and Enforce.

The only enforcement wording here is the start...The matters MUST!!! be necessary.

And to be necessary you MUST PROVE what is ACTUALLY nessary, to bloody remidy any problem you first must damb well kinow what the problem is in the first place...throwing a whole lot of books and courses at an unknowen problem dont solve shit!

The board better hope they never cross me cus i got a whole lot cans'o'whip arse to open up on em!

sorry the stiengrenades got the better of me near the end. ;)

This belongs most deffinatley in the RANT section lol

have a nice weekend all. :D
