Hi all, I'm an apprentice  plumber/gasfitter in my 2 year.
I have been involved in the building industry for 6 years before taking the opportunity to start an adult apprenticeship. I am fascinated at the wide scope of skills involved and enjoy being 'on the tools' the academic side i have to work harder on.... E=MC small 2.

A couple of things i don't understand  How can D.I.Y's do sanitary plumbing without a licence? Does the board police these people or just registered plumbers and use their licence fees to do them for shoddy work?? or only if some one dobs them in?

Whats up with Phill Routhan? borer in the board??

I gather the I.T.O. and the PGBD don't get along too well,  one providing the link to training  for apprentices and the other setting the pass mark and licencing etc.

and polytechs refu*kulating the course material content and timeframe of block courses for calculating future funding streams. STMs  140 nzqa points per student = 1 STM  about $6000 approx ( i have not got the exact figure) to the polytech. Interesting what you find on the net.

Regards En.

Welcome En,

You'll find this site valuable for anything to do with PGD and solar. Feel free to post in any forum and ask any questions. Perhaps your concerns about DIY can go in the plumbing thread? By posting specific questions in the appropriate thread you will be more likely to get a good response.

Cheers,
Ed
