As we approach the end of the year it's always a time for reflection - to look back over the past 12months and see what we have and haven't achieved, and look forward to 2016 to see what we want to achieve.
I just wanted to express a huge vote of thanks to Wal Gordon and the Federation for producing the weekly Fellow Practitoner (I certainly learn new things all the time because of it, and I've been upskilled in various aspects of legislation over the last few years because of what I've read and then subsequently gone searching for). This man and his team have tirelessly given up hours and hours of their personal time to further the cause in our industries. Wal Gordon is the most amazing bloke - he is humble, intelligent, generous with his time and knowledge - he explains things in a way most people can understand and he is passionate about lifting standards in this industry. Of course he has a team that work with him, but I think he deserves special recognition (and he will hate that he is singled out) - but this guy is nothing short of amazing. I don't know anyone else in a position like his that does it for free (actually free isn't the right word because the guy doesn't take a red cent for himself, so in fact it costs him personally to do what he does). Others that are heading organisations like the Federation do so with a decent pay packet.
Thanks Wal for all you do, for the example you set and for ensuring we are kept informed and educated on a weekly basis! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
