replacing gutter on level 5
« on: September 04, 2012, 06:37:20 PM »
Wow! Can you identify them? I quoted this job and allowed for about $1500 in scaffolding, harnesses etc to replace the guttering.. I don't think I will win it.  Of course, who needs health and safety when you have others willing to do the job and risk everything! By the way the one in black is also standing on a ladder. No harness and probably no insurance. Gutters and downpipes should be legally classified as drainage and only to be installed by qualified trade men. After watching these guys nothing shocks me any more!

Send the picture and any details you have to DOL and let them follow it up.  We will never be able to price and win when there are arseholes out there like this who do not follow the rules the rest of us have to.  I'm sick of the "no dobbing" mentality when dipshits like this undermine our business.  DOL will follow up with the builder owner because they are baying for blood over shit like this.

Yes indeed  makes a mockery of the recent changes to working at height regulations in which plumbers/ trades have to abide by.

Just get up there and replace that spouting boy!  Sorry boss i dont bounce as well as i used too...........

Hi Plumber, I guess there has been no response as yet?
I would have been mildly surprised if there had been any action.

Never heard back unfortunately, the person I dealt with left council and the new guy wasn't interested. Lost contact a long time ago  :-

Yes no surprise really, I guess if it had been me id be still in jail! ???
One would hope that the report a cowboy app and the current drive to sort out this sort of bad practice would make this sort of unsafe practice a thing of the past.
