Best of luck to those who sat their exams today!
I sat the 9195 Certifying plumber phew, only 15 multiple choice. First question how long after changing address do you have to notify the Board and what are the consequences of not doing so.... sure that will help me be a better plumber!
Wouldn't have a guess how i went. Have to wait till the results come out.

No not  unless its P.T.S.D symptoms or it was just in my paper.
I recall reading it somewhere prob the board website but was unable to dredge up anything that stuck out as remotely feasible only stupid stuff, nerves i guess.
I studied till my eyes bled and i don't have any real feeling on how it went i know a couple of the calculations i hadn't a clue how to do but had a go anyway.
Bloody glad to get the hell out of there though.

Cheers!

This is it  under licencing policy on the boards website.

Duties
to notify Board of change of details
19
.1
All holders of practising licences
and provisional licences have a duty to notify the Board as
follows:
a
If the person changes their business address, as recorded in the public register, the
person must notify the Board within 3 months of the change.
Any person who does
not do so commits
an offence and may be prosecuted in the District Court, and, if
found guilty, liable to fine of up to $500.

There we have it......

Best of luck with yr gas exam!

Thanks alot.

I did notice when sitting your gas certifying exams, you used to get the whole of nzs 5261 gas installation. now you only get part 1 of the code.  Maybe too many people were passing so they've made it alot harder again.

Congratulations Enn - well done.  Certifiers are few and far between these days.  I may as well have a wee skite too - two of my staff sat their registration exams - one for Plumbing - 87% and one for gasfitting 81.5%.  Pretty stoked in our place I can tell you.  A testament to the two blokes and also to the team that trained them, the other tradespeople and the tutors at the polytec, as well of course as the buys themselves who studied their butts off.  I enjoy seeing their faces when they tell me their exam results - they just beam - and so they should as it is the culmination of a few years work.  Now to talk them into studying for their Certifying....
Have you learned lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you?  Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed the passage with you?  (Walt Whitman 1819-1891)  American Poet

well done to your guys Jax, but rather than go for certifying get them to study up on computers and the like, just had some work done on mine, the charge rate was slightly more than what we could charge with no comeback or noose waiting. $138/ hr labour charge incl tax,
Why worry bout the health and safety bullshit ??????

A big well done to all those who managed a pass mark. It is a great accomplishment as well as a great feeling when you first open that results paper up  8)

Whats the scoop on the exams currently then?

Are they cutting back on what resources they provide to candidates? I sat licensed drainlayer in 2011 and cert plumbing and gas in 2012 and I found around 80% of the answers could be found in the material provided if you knew where to look.

Has this changed??

Cheers, rodza1
